In order to understand the characteristics of air conditioning temperature setting behavior in residences, obtains 729 records of temperature setting actions of 22 split air conditioners in Beijing in the summers of 2016 and 2017 using test and recording method. Analyses the record data and the results show that there are great differences in air conditioning temperature setting behavior among different residents and different rooms of the same resident, and the air conditioning temperature setting points in living rooms are usually lower than those in bedrooms. The setting points are also different among different bedrooms. Besides, the setting points of the same room vary within a certain range. The results indicate that there are great differences in cooling demand among different people, which is an important factor causing great differences in air conditioning using behavior and energy consumption of air conditioners among different residents and different rooms of the same resident.
